Muscle Supplements For Building Muscle Fast

Building Muscle Fast

Muscle supplements exist for just one basic reason: to build muscle mass as fast and efficiently as possible. At least, that is usually the goal of most bodybuilders who turn to supplements to help them build up a good lean and strong muscle tone. Muscle supplements that are available on the market all fall into a fairly narrow range. They are usually derived from one or more of the following: protein, creatine, glutamine, HMB, growth hormone, nitric oxide, anti-estrogens, amino acids, methoxy/ECDY and zinc monomethionine aspartate.

Protein consists of amino acids, and amino acids in turn are the things that muscle is made up of. It therefore stands to reason that by taking in extra protein, anyone should increase their muscle strength and mass. In fact, it’s impossible to build muscle without protein. The usual recommended intake of protein is two to four grams per day for every kilograms of body weight. If you are of average weight, around 75 kilograms, then an intake of protein of between 150 grams and 300 grams should be about right.

Protein can be found in many natural products. The most commonly used include whey, egg, soy and casein. Whey can be digested very quickly, typically within 30 minutes or so, and this is ideal for after your workout when your body is in its greatest need of protein. It works fast and gives fast results. Whey forms the basis of many marketed muscle supplements.

Creatine occurs naturally in the body. This makes it very safe for everyone, especially for those who are trying out muscle supplements for the first time. Creatine increases the main muscles that are used for sudden power. This makes it useful for any needed power surge. Creatine seems to work best if it is taken on a cycled routine. About four weeks of intake followed by two weeks off seems to work well for most people.

Muscle supplements are popular with many athletes, especially those who need muscle power, such as bodybuilders and power lifters. By and large they are safe to use if not overdone. Anyone who intends to try out muscle supplements for the first time is advised to seek expert advice and advance at a sensible rate.  Before you add any supplement to your diet, always do some research and find out what ingredients the supplements contain and how they will affect you.  If in doubt, ask a medical professional for advice prior to taking supplements, particularly if you are taking any other prescribed medication.
